My name is Dr. Nancy Vidal-Finnerty, I am an associate professor dedicated to educating future clinicians in the complex and rewarding field of communication and swallowing disorders. I teach dysphagia in adults and children, introduction to communication disorders, normal speech and language acquisition, neuroanatomy, and bilingualism and speech disorders. My research interests explore neurophysiological underpinnings of English speech sounds in both monolingual and bilingual populations. I am deeply engaged in studying dysphagia within neurocognitive disorders and researching music therapy and narrative elicitation, which I believe holds great promise in enhancing quality of life and communication for those facing neurocognitive challenges.
