My name is Gabriela DiBenedetto, a first-year speech-language pathology graduate student passionate about working with adults facing dementia, cognitive impairments, dysphagia, and aphasia. My service work has shaped my commitment to patient-centered care and improving quality of life for individuals with serious illnesses. I’m especially interested in integrating cultural humility, spiritual awareness, and interoception into SLP and palliative care practices. Currently, I’m pursuing the Interdisciplinary Advanced Certificate in Working with Young Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and learning ASL to better support early language development, social-emotional growth, and equitable access to communication resources.
