Geriatric Dementia is a specific type of dementia pertaining to mostly elderly people. It includes a range of social and cognitive impairments disrupting daily functions. Contradicting misconceptions, dementia is not a process of normal aging. Rather, it showcases some underlying conditions. Geriatric dementia points out the risk associated with age-related factors. According to studies, geriatric dementia and other related type of dementia is prevalent in people in age groups 65 to 80 years and above.
