Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy: Insights into Brain Injury and Cognitive Decline

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive neurological disorder associated with repeated head injuries and trauma, frequently observed in athletes, military personnel, and others exposed to recurrent brain impacts. CTE impairs memory, behavior, mood, and cognitive function, resulting in symptoms such as confusion, depression, aggression, and progressive cognitive decline. As neurological damage advances, affected individuals and their families may experience increasing difficulties in daily functioning and emotional stability. Early detection, comprehensive medical assessment, and targeted therapeutic interventions are essential for symptom management and enhancing quality of life. Current research, emerging treatments, and expert discourse on CTE and neurological health are regularly featured at the Dementia World Conference (DWC), where international specialists collaborate to advance understanding and patient care.
